Volunteers

1A ARTS etc works with a great team of volunteers most of whom are children’s art support volunteers. Our volunteers help with a wide range of activities including

• digital arts projects
• the Saturday Arts Club
• after school pottery classes
• festivals and holiday arts activities

Volunteers are given training in the area they work.

One volunteer gives her thoughts on how volunteering with 1A ARTS etc has helped her to find work: "Making the decision to volunteer with 1A ARTS etc has not only allowed me to share my skills and passion for art and design with the younger generation. But it has also helped me to secure my ideal job in a creative and engaging working environment at the Nickelodeon channel. I believe that my enjoyment for volunteering and working with children at 1A ARTS etc gave me an edge and advantage over other candidates. Helping others will not only benefit them but you will also experience life-changing benefits."

From January 2010 1A ARTS etc will be running a V-Inspired volunteering project with exciting opportunities for 16s to 25s.

We welcome local people to join our board of trustees, especially those who have specialist skills and knowledge, for example as a parent or an avid user of Facebook or Twitter. Or perhaps you have work experience in areas such as marketing or implementing quality assurance systems. Volunteers are given training in the area they work.
